Social dining and why it is important

Society can be fast paced and hurried nowadays.

One minute you get up for breakfast and the next it’s past your regular bedtime and you still seem to have 101 things to do! Quite often we lose sight of the balance between our work, family and social life but there are a host of reasons why we should take a step back, think about our lives and re-establish that balance.

Social dining has long been one of our most popular pastimes. Here are some fundamental reasons why this is a good thing:

  • Sitting down at a table to eat prevents us from eating on the go and can aid digestion and wellbeing.

  • When we sit at a table and concentrate on our food we eat ‘mindfully’. We can think about what we eat, appreciate it and eat correctly. This can help with weight control and food satisfaction.

  • Social dining provides us with a sense of relaxation and contentedness.

  • Eating out helps us to discover different foods, flavours and experiences. We can comfortably take ourselves out of our comfort zone. Which is good!

  • Provides us with a way to bond with others over an enjoyable event without distraction.

  • Provides a sense of belonging when dining in a group eating the same type of cuisine.

  • Encourages us to be ‘in the moment’ rather than being too preoccupied with what has already happened or what might happen in the future.

  • Booking a table at a restaurant gives us something to look forward too.

  • Looking forward to a meal improves mood, improves productivity and can help us to structure our day.

Here at Rajbelash we are keen to help people rediscover social dining in the best way possible. This is why we have Friends & Family nights on Sunday and Monday evenings. Why not take advantage of these offers and book at table with us now.
